Danny Crates’ story is so much more than just another sportsman achieving his dreams. Telling how a young, carefree Essex boy comes back from losing an arm to become a Paralympic gold medallist, the book covers all the highs and lows of Danny’s career spanning three Paralympic games and his role as an ambassador for the London 2012 bid
All told with Danny's amiable sense of humour and indefatigable optimism, the story is one of triumph over adversity and making the most of whatever life throws at you

With three albums behind her Claire has really established herself on the jazz circuit and beyond where her unique, impressive voice and creative piano style have earned her critical acclaim. She has recently being touring her latest show ‘De-lovely – A Tribute to Cole Porter’ but for this event goes back to her first love by performing a whole host of great jazz classics from the Great American Songbook including Summertime, I Get A Kick Out Of You, Cry Me A River, Lady is a Tramp.
Making up the quartet is a superb line up including Steve Creese on percussion (Julian Cope, China Crisis, Ruby Turner, Edwin Collins, Marcus Miller, Paul Young, Mari Wilson), Jonty Fisher on double bass (Eileen Hunter band, Liane Carroll, Jacqui Dankworth) and on saxophone one of the true young rising stars of Jazz music, Maldon boy Zak Barrett (Zak’s Fellowship of Funk and the Zak Barrett Quartet).
An night for true inspirational music.
