About Us

Essex on Tour works with people all over Essex to promote professional, live arts events in all sorts of venues all over the place.  We have a huge selection of shows which include theatre, dance, music, children’s shows and comedy – something for every taste and age to enjoy. 
 
All Essex on Tour performances are promoted by local volunteers in their local venue. So you should find something not too far away in a village or church hall, a school, community centre, hospital or even a barn.  We can put a show on almost anywhere there’s room for an audience and you can be certain of a warm welcome.  All the companies we use are professional and specialise in touring high quality shows to many different sorts of venues.
 
Support from our funders means the shows we offer to our local volunteers are heavily subsidised.  This means shows are affordable, ticket prices are kept low for audiences AND shows are local so no huge travel costs. 
 
Essex on Tour is funded by Essex County Council and the participating district and borough councils of Braintree, Brentwood, Castle Point, Chelmsford, Colchester, Epping Forest Arts, the consortium of Maldon District Council, Mid-Essex PCT and The Plume School, Rochford and Thurrock. 
 
We are currently receiving funding from the Arts Council of England for a three year development programme which includes this lovely web site!
